Royal Tour: Day 1 of the Australian Tour

When the couple returned to Admiralty House for a Governor-General reception on Tuesday afternoon, the Duchess had changed into a green dress by US designer Brandon Maxwell, and a pair of Dior heels. She had also styled her hair - which was loose around her shoulders earlier in the day - into her signature tousled updo. She left on Princess Diana's gold bangle and butterfly earrings

Day one of the pregnant Duchess of Sussex's royal tour has been a sartorial smash hit. Meghan flawlessly pulled off what's bound to be the first of many costume changes in Sydney on Tuesday, at the start of the couple's 16-day tour of Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga.

In a nod to her host nation, Meghan, 37, chose a white shift dress by the Australian designer Karen Gee to visit Taronga Zoo, Sydney Harbour and the Opera House today, teamed with a chic trench coat by another Australian label, Martin Grant, and Stuart Weitzman heels.

The website briefly crashed following the Duchess' appearance as fans rushed to search for the frock, which is called the 'Blessed' dress - possibly a sweet reference to the happy news that Meghan and Harry are expecting their first baby, which was confirmed by Kensington Palace on Monday shortly after their arrival in Australia.

Meghan later swapped the dress for an AUD$2,555 (£1,385) dark green number by the US designer Brandon Maxwell and a pair of Dior stilettos as she returned to Admiralty House for a reception hosted by the Governor-General, where her husband delivered a speech to guests.

In a touching tribute to her late mother-in-law, Meghan wore jewellery belonging to Princess Diana throughout the day; a pair of delicate butterfly earrings, and a gold bangle. Read more from The Daily Mail.

A New Royal Baby!! Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry are Expecting a New Royal Baby in the Spring!!!

Caption: The news was also tweeted by the couple's official account (pictured) sending social media into a frenzy at 8.40am UK time

Harry today gave his first TV interview since the news went public with ABC's Australian Story, but could not be tempted to disclose any new details.

Instead, he focused on the importance of the Invictus Games, which starts in Sydney next week. Meghan, 37, is in 'good health' and has had a successful 12 week scan - meaning the child was conceived between their mid-July tour of Ireland and her birthday on August 4, when Prince Harry was best man at the wedding of Charlie van Straubenzee.

The royal baby is due in late April 2019, possibly around St George's Day, April 23, meaning the child, who will be seventh in line to the throne behind Harry, could share a birthday with its cousin Prince Louis. Read more from The Daily Mail.
