The Duke and Duchess of Sussex had been warmly welcomed Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern for a reception.
It was hosted by New Zealand Governor General Dame Patsy Reddy at Government House.
Harry and Meghan were also greeted by the Leader of the Opposition Simon Bridges and his wife Natalie. After delivering a speech, Meghan shook hands and chatted away with guests at the evening reception.
Wearing a black Gabriela Hearst gown and a Maori inspired necklace, Meghan delivered her speech in full at a reception hosted by the Governor-General.
The duchess gave a nod to New Zealand’s most famous suffragette - Kate Sheppard - who was born in Liverpool but emigrated with her family in 1868.
Closing her speech, Meghan said: "In the words of your suffragette Kate Sheppard, 'All that separates, whether race, class, creed, or sex, is inhuman, and must be overcome'."Read more from EXPRESS.
